Forklift

Choose the type of lift equipment you need training on from the list below.

REMEMBER: These video classes satisfy the classroom portion of the training only.  You still need a skills test to demonstrate competency.

Contact your Foreman or the Express Office to schedule the skills test!

Aerial lifts have replaced ladders and scaffolding on many job sites due to their mobility and flexibility. They may be made of metal, fiberglass reinforced plastic, or other materials. They may be powered or manually operated, and are considered to be aerial lifts whether or not they can rotate around a primarily vertical axis.  Many workers are injured or killed on aerial lifts each year.

This Forklift Operator Training program, while designed for the construction industry, is based on OHSA's 29CFR 1910.178 found in the general industry regulations. OSHA references this standard for Powered Industrial Trucks in the 29CFR 1926 construction industry regulations. During the training video you will see information on certain forklifts which are used in construction, warehouse and manufacturing settings. This is necessary to cover the standard appropriately.
